April 10, 2006: Know what Groundhoppers are? They're soccer fans, who 'collect' grounds and matches. A group of them based in Berkshire noticed that Hatherleigh Town is playing just about the only soccer match anywhere in the country on Good Friday (against Seaton Town), and they see that as an ideal opportunity to visit, watch the match and take away proof of attendance - such as a programme. Yes, a match programme! We know that doesn't happen often but the attention is causing the committee to jump about. Roy Smith is making an 8 page programme and extra after-match 'refreshments' are being prepared too, apparently for 50-100 people. Why not come along and cheer on the lads? KO at 3pm.
PS: they won 3-2 away at Axminster on Saturday!
PS2: the youngsters are playing on Friday too. That's also a game worth supporting. KO at 12 noon.
