Hospice Walk first
By Geoff Hodgkinson, Co-Editor

June 3, 2010: Mike Luxton writes: "On Sunday 20th June there is an opportunity to enjoy an early morning leisurely walk in company through the attractive scenery of Exbourne and Jacobstowe parish, indulge in a social breakfast and, more importantly, financially assist a long standing and deserving children's charity - the Children's Hospice S.W. Starting at 7.30.am from the village square, walkers will cross countryside towards Jacobstowe where they will meet the river Okement. Turning right along the river bank to Woodhall they then turn right again, and so back to Exbourne village Hall for an English breakfast. The walk should take just over an hour. Children and dogs under control welcome. The walk is free but there will be a charge of 5 per head for the meal (children under 5 free). This is a 'first' for Exbourne, so please help us make it a success. A.L. Martin & Sons, Waitrose and Dunns Daries are ensuring that every penny raised will benefit the Hospice. If unable to participate but wishing to donate contributions may be passed to the undersigned. Join us for breakfast even if you can't join us for the walk. Tickets from Margaret Weeks 851379 or Mike Luxton 851261.
