First Third Thursday Blues at The Bridge
By Neil Price, Co-Editor

April 24, 2010: It was standing room only at the Bridge Inn Hatherleigh for the first "Third Thursday" music event organised by Josie Lloyd, pictured here, Hatherleighs own Ragtime/blues player. The Monkey Gland Blues Band raised a storm, and there were fantastic performences from a number of invited guests and "open Micers." What a lot of Local talent we have! The next Third Thursday Rhythm and Booze evening will be on Thursday May 20th. starting at 8.15pm The headline band will be "Turn up the Volume" another local bluesy combo, and Josie will be giving us more of her unique 1900's bawdy blues and fabulous ragtime fingerpicking. The idea behind this venture is to encourage and support local and new musicians whilst also putting on a great nights entertainment with established bands , so if you are an up and coming band, or a solo performer looking for a showcase for your talent, get in touch with Josie at josielloyd@btinternet.com and book yourself a spot.....or turn up early on the night and see if there is a space to play.
