Local Residents in Uproar
By Don Cudmore

April 1, 2010: According to local rumours Meade has been found underneath the George in the tunnel between the Hotel and White Hart House. The George Hotel will now not open until at least 2011. Having been promised the doors will open this summer. This is due to the builders finding the legendary tunnel between the Hotel and the small monastery at White Hart House. The discovery of the tunnel has led to the delay in the rebuilding of the George due to the interference of the archaeologists from the British Museum. “Well I don’t Believe it!” said a local resident when he heard the news about the George Hotel. “We got the Tally, but where have the promises gone. They said they would rebuild by June now you are saying it won’t happen until 2011. What a shower! When will the pubs in this country be run and owned by people that want to run pubs.” Scottish and Newcastle have not made any comment.
