Wet Wet Wet!
By Geoff Hodgkinson, Co-Editor

November 10, 2008: The skies opened and dropped buckets full of water on Hatherleigh Carnival this year, especially during the assembly period. It became impossible to take good pictures druing that time although we did get a few. Everyone kept smiling and soon the weather changed for the better - it became less worse! The main procession started on time, albeit looking a bit bedraggled, and to everyone's credit the floats put up a good show under the circumstances, although umbrellas were kept busy everywhere. The number of spectators was way down but a passable crowd made it all worthwhile. We were away from the internet all weekend so this is our first chance to upload any images. We managed to shoot most floats although the lighting seemed more difficult to control than usual. Here's an appropriate picture from the procession - we bet the girls didn't know how relevant their display was going to be. More to follow soon.
