Hatherleigh Festival Programme online
By Neil Price, Co-Editor

May 23, 2008: www.hatherleighfestival.co.uk HATHERLEIGH FESTIVAL 10 th - 13 th July
The brand new Festival 2008 programme is here. There are many exciting new events including 'Variety By The Moor', comedy, skill and ridiculousness from some of the countries top comedy acts. The dance workshops are open to all over 13's even if you've never tried a dance class before and offer a huge range of styles to try. The Dance Revue will feature such a diverse range of talented dancers, normally impossible to see at one event, so really shouln't be missed. Don't think you're interested in dance? Please come along and let the dancers change you mind! Then stroll up to the Square for Tin Soldiers who have just signed to Sony and hear their brand new single '24 Hours'. This band could be really big and you can see them here in Hatherleigh for FREE!! *
There will be time to see BOTH events, so no need to miss out.
Our pre-Festival fundraiser 'Abba Revival', promises to be a great night out, so come along and be your very own dancing queen, whilst helping with the festival funds. More tickets are available this year but should be booked in advance from Hatherleigh Pottery thank you Jane and Mike.
We have to raise around £16,000 a year to put on the Festival, the free events and venues alone costing over £5,000. We have fantastic support from local businesses and individuals, who we thank unreservedly. We have just received the great news that The co-operative have awarded the Festival a grant and The North Devon Journal will be sponsoring the posters, so this will help the finances considerably. However, the Festival needs the support of the community, to ensure that it can continue to bring exciting art and entertainment to Hatherleigh so please please book your tickets in advance, buy lot's of raffle tickets and put some change in the donation buckets for the free events you have enjoyed.
If you would like to help during the Festival in any way, we always need help with the barbeque, Stewards, Sitters at the exhibitions etc.. Please do come forward, it can be good fun.
We have space for a few more stalls at the Saturday market, this is for arts and crafts, locally made produce and goods. Tables are £15 each (no secondhand goods, thank you)
Parents, we try to provide entertainment and events for your children to enjoy, in return please could you keep them seated and quiet where appropriate, so that others may enjoy the show. Thank you.
We hope you will find lots of events to enjoy and wish you a very good time.
