Another Award for the Youth of Hatherleigh
By Neil Price, Co-Editor

November 9, 2007: Young People in Hatherleigh are celebrating after they won the top Devon Crimebeat Award for re decorating the Hatherleigh Bus Shelter in 2006.
The Crimebeat Award is open to young people throughout the UK who want to make a difference to their community. Hatherleigh young people selected the bus shelter as it is central to the Town, yet had become quite run down.
The Crimebeat Award cup was presented by Stephen Otter, the High Sheriff of Devon and Cornwall Police and by Simon Dell the Devon Crimebeat Co-ordinator. Each young person who took part received a  Crimebeat certificate.
The Police were very impressed with the Hatherleigh entry which and commended the young people for an outstanding project. Hatherleigh now represents Devon for the National Crimebeat Award.
Hatherleigh Senior Youth group meets on a Thursday evening between 7-9 at the Community Centre. We offer cookery, computer gaming, art, music technology, dance, live music events and all kinds of other activities. Any young person aged 10+ can join. Please contact Jane 07773 679559 email jane@seize-the-moment.net for full details. We are also always looking for adults to help out afterall they are all our children!
