Hatherleigh Youth come up trumps!
By Neil Price, Co-Editor

November 17, 2006: Hatherleigh Bus shelter redecorated by young people... The tar barrels of Hatherleigh have been made a permanent fixture in the Hatherleigh Centre Bus Shelter. Over 25 young people from Hatherleigh led by volunteer youth workers Tony Chase and Paul Coward were awarded 475 from Devon and Cornwall Police. Since August they have repainted the inside and outside of the bus shelter and filled the roof panels with a colourful collage of flying objects. The theme depicts night and day in the Town and there is a scene of the popular carnival. A chalk board for messages and a notice board for Hatherleigh events has been added for the community . The flaming tar barrels are depicted by a large mosaic designed and made by the young people all aged between 11-19. On Saturday 25th November at midday there will be a grand opening of the Bus Shelter by the Mayor of Hatherleigh. Everyone is invited along to have a look at the work. For full details please phone Hatherleigh Area Youth Office on 01837 810239
