Carnival News - Tis a Devon Thing!
By Geoff Hodgkinson, Co-Editor

CLICK FOR CARNIVAL PAGES October 31, 2006: The two Tar Barrel runs at Carnival (Nov 11th) should prove even more spectacular than usual! This year, for the first time, the runners and their backup team will wear special tee-shirts to clearly identify them. The tee-shirts (limited edition, advance art-work left) have been specially designed and printed by the Tar Barrel Committee in conjunction with Winkleigh Cider and the shirts carry their new strapline - 'Tis a Devon Thing'. Perfect! We're looking forward to seeing the 'team' coming down Market Street at 5am. Be there! The Tar Barrel Committee thanks Margaret Bridgeman and colleagues for their kind help and hope they will be guests on Carnival Day.

Please note: The 'team tee shirts' are to ensure the Committee knows in advance who will pull the barrels, for safety and insurance reasons. Only selected team members wearing a tee-shirt will be permitted on the ropes.

PS: our Carnival coverage starts here today and will build up in coming days! Visit often.
