Still Time to Enter the Tar Barrel Challenge
By Geoff Hodgkinson, Co-Editor

July 26, 2016:

There's still time to to take part in the Tar Barrel Challenge on Saturday August 6th. Entries are invited from male, female and childrens’ teams, and all-comers are welcome. Maybe you’re part of a football club? A netball club? A darts team? A YFC? Or just a group of mates. Why not give it a go? Trophies will be awarded for the fastest children's team (under 14 years), the fastest male/female teams, the fastest YFC team and best Fancy Dress team. The barrel and sled can be viewed now behind the Tally Ho!

For an entry form and news updates check out the Facebook page "The Tar Barrel Challenge 2016" For more info and a paper entry form call Dawn Stevens on 01837 810265. You can also enter on the day at the start line outside the Co-op. Racing starts at 2pm for children, 4pm for adults.

Spectators are especially welcome. As well as cheering on the teams there will be entertainment and activities in and around The Square throughout the day, including live music and a BBQ from about 5pm. All profits to Tar Barrel Committee funds.

Fancy dress may be worn and there's a special prize for the best dressed team! Sponsors include the Red Lion at Exbourne, the Duke of York, Richard Tidball Insurance, Hatherleigh Pottery and the Bridge Garage.
