Sir Gary to Shebbear College Cricket Pavilion
By Neil Price, Co-Editor

June 29, 2016: Sir Garfield Sobers, AO, OCC(who will be 80 later in July) will be opening our new Cricket Pavilion on Friday 1st July at 1.00pm. Press and TV are invited to cover this important occasion. The official opening follows the school's Speech Day and prize-giving morning event and also ties in with the school's celebration of its 175th year in 2016. Sir Gary Sobers played for the West Indies between 1954 and 1974 and is widely considered to be cricket's greatest all-rounder. To celebrate the school's 175th year Shebbear College has also opened 2 new buildings - a dedicated 6th Form Centre and a Music Centre.
