Old Schools’ toilet is now twinned!
By Neil Price, Co-Editor

March 17, 2016: Thank you to everyone for supporting our Lent coffee morning to twin Old Schools’ toilet with a school block through the work of Toilet Twinning. Toilet Twinning works to provide the money and resources to teach people how to build latrines for themselves and their communities. They also educate them about the health benefits of basic hygiene. Each toilet built transforms people’s lives, improving their health, safety, productivity, and longevity. On the day of the coffee morning, we raised enough money (£243) to pay for the education and resources required to build a school block plus the postage to cover the sending of our certificate with a picture of the toilet we are twinned with. Soon the certificate will be on display! Since then we have received additional donations and are happy to receive any further donations to ‘guerilla’ twin one of the other toilets in the town. We might even be able to work towards become a ‘toilet twinned’ town! For any more information or ideas of how you might raise money to twin your own toilet and make a difference to other people’s lives, please do go to their website: toilettwinning.org or contact Rev Ruth Hansford (01837 810 314) maggiethecat@waitrose.com).
