WEST DOWN WIND TURBINE: Application Imminent?
By Geoff Hodgkinson, Co-Editor

October 11, 2014: Opponents of wind turbines be warned! The Jacobstowe and Exbourne Wind Turbine Action Group report that things are moving on the proposed West Down Turbine front. A letter (not the one left) has been sent by Aeolus's agent Holistic Ideas to many local residents 'ticking a number of boxes' related to comments made to date. Read it here. It's informational mainly, but it probably signals that a formal application is imminent. JACEX have provided a response here (or click the image). It covers the main points in the Holistic letter and raises some other issues, especially the growth in turbine applications in this area.

We learn that if a public meeting is called by Exbourne and Jacobstowe Parish Council to discuss the application (should it go ahead) then that meeting will be held in Hatherleigh Community Centre. This makes sense given that the West Down project would affect people over a much wider area than just Exbourne and Jacobstowe e.g. the views from Hatherleigh Moor, Inwardleigh and elsewhere.
