WinTurbines Yes or No? It is up to.....
By Neil Price, Co-Editor

March 27, 2014:

Wind Turbines, in Hatherleigh have your say at at the Community Centre on April 10th at 2:30pm to 7:30pm, the turbine will be 77 meters high and will effect the view from Hatherleigh Moor The same hieght as the one proposed for RUNNON MOOR LANE
Please take the time to express your views!! Phil Cookson Managing director of the company putting the plans forward says A planning application is under consideration for submission to West Devon Borough Council for a 500KW wind turbine at West Down Farm, Jacobstowe, Hatherleigh. The turbine hub would be 50m high. West Down Farm is a site of high ecological habitat and species value which the landowner has managed sensitively for many years, under guidance and contract from organisations such as Natural England and their predecessor organisations and Devon Wildlife Trust. Ecological surveys and reports have been prepared to ensure minimal risks to resident species from the proposed wind turbine; West Devon Borough Council's ecologist has approved the proposed avoidance and mitigation proposals. Future costs of managing the habitats are unlikely to be met by public subsidies in future years. The landowner and developer wish to contribute to local community and voluntary developments. As part of the process of listening to local views, a consultation has been arranged for Thursday 10th April in the Multi-Use Area within the Hatherleigh Community Centre, Hatherleigh from 2pm until 7pm. This consultation will take the form of an exhibition covering aspects of the application and will provide an opportunity for you to understand what is contained within it, seek further details and provide your consultation comments. For further information, please contact Phil Cookson, Managing Director, Holistic Ideas Ltd on 01984 636074.
