The Secret Life of Roger Vick
By Neil Price, Co-Editor

October 26, 2013:

Roger Vick (1938 to 2009), the late owner of the market had a secret life as an artist. His sister, Sally Vick, the properter of the Salar Gallery is putting on an exhibition of his works from 5th November to 7th December. ‘Reflections’A Solo Exhibition of Paintings by Roger T G Vick, Wildfowl, Dartmoor-inspired Paintings and Abstracts, mainly in Oils on Canvas
When not working as an auctioneer, Roger T G Vick had another life as a painter of wildfowl, landscapes, moorland scenes and especially in later years, abstracts.  He exhibited his work publicly on rare occasions at Wildfowl Trust (now  Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust) exhibitions at Slimbridge and Arundel and in 1988 at a family exhibition at Hatherleigh. In 1980 a limited edition print, Sky Furnace, was published – the painting illustrating the poem of his friend, the poet, Ted Hughes.
We are lucky enough to have paintings by the Artist painted over several decades and most of which are for sale.  Don’t miss this rare opportunity to see them.
