August 3, 2013:
Can you believe it? I don’t, but it's the first one for a long time. Opened by Mr. Kyatt who is offering you the chance to purchase a cream tea on 25th August, all in aid of the Churches of Iddesleigh and Monkokehampton.
The event was typically British, the attendees left the Duke of York between the showers and took the chance to throw wet sponges at the Landlord, John Pittam, while he was in the stocks. During the downpours the unlucky villagers huddled under the gazebos and the stallholders had a captive audience, while the lucky ones got to the Duke to escape or went for a cream tea in the Northcote Hall, some of the dementia students may have thought it was still the Northcote Arms.
The bitches were forced to do their best in the ring, in the rain, while the photographer was drinking a pint or two, I lost count. Which hairy mutt won I don’t know, but I am sure she was beautiful to some old dog.
