Ruby Run well advanced
By Geoff Hodgkinson, Co-Editor

THE RUBY RUN TAKES PLACE ON SUNDAY JUNE 11TH May 10, 2006: Roy Smith has updated us on the Ruby Run, (or here), taking place on June 11th. He wrote: "Preparations are well advanced, with numbers swelling daily. I would imagine we will at least match last years numbers, if not increase on them. But still room for further entries, plus entering on the day! Walkers and runners welcome, with walkers able to start from 8.00 am.

Geoffrey Cox MP will start the race and help with the presentations at the end. Prizes are as last year: Dartington crystal 'Ruby' vases for the first three males and females; 500 worth of Waitrose vouchers to be shared out amongst the top three of each: Goody Bags as well. And we hope to have special prizes for the two top local runners! There's also a Fun Run organised by Sandra Collyer, with medals to all finishers; entries on the day.

We'll have a Band at the end along with burgers, etc, plus Jay the Clown. Kate Humble may participate if she can get out of a voice-over committment. If so, she will run with me at 5.30 (as I am the Race Director this year, I need to be around during the race and then welcome-in the runners!). However, there is no guarentee she will make it. Watch this space for more updates." More from the the Ruby Run web site.
