Researchers Required
By Neil Price, Co-Editor

Research Participants Needed
Let me introduce myself. My name is Hannah Chiswell and I am a researcher at the Centre for Rural Policy Research, at Exeter University. As part of my Doctoral studies into the next generation of farming, I am focusing on Hatherleigh and surrounding parishes, and will be writing to many of you, particularly farmers, in the coming weeks, to request your participation in interviews.
Supervised by Professor Michael Winter, I am a year in to my research and really looking forward to going out into the field this year.
As an introduction to the area, I have spent the last few weeks using National Farm Survey data from the early 1940s to construct individual farm histories, including maps, which I hope this will be of interest to many of you.
You are likely to see me in the area of the coming months (hopefully not looking too lost!), so feel free to come and talk to me. If anyone has any questions about what I am doing, or would like to know more, feel free to contact me (H.M.Chiswell@exeter.ac.uk or 07795566639).
