Flower Show 2007

August 18th 2006 in new Community Centre

This annual demonstration of Hatherleigh's gardening talents showed once again that standards generally very high. "Some of the best roses I've ever seen," was the comment from the official flower Judge on Saturday after making his key decisions at the annual summer show. The new Community Centre is ideal for this event said committee members, with its big roof windows letting in that all-important natural light. The prolonged lousy weather had clearly affected some classes, particularly the vegetables, though many displays were still stunning - three huge and beautifully rounded onions easily won 'Best in Show' for example

Here's a flavour of the displays, which included home cooked items, and miniature gardens, crafts and food made by local children.

Lucky for some!

Little and Large!

Guess who?

All shapes and sizes

Cooked items were analysed in great detail
