Hatherleigh Festival AGM -
September 16
Hatherleigh Festival
The very successful 2010 Hatherleigh Festival is now over and what a Festival we had! We hoped you were entertained and amused by the delights of this year. The Festival made a small profit which will go towards future Festivals; this could not have been possible without local sponsorship and the generosity from YOU in your kind ‘bucket donations’ over the weekend, which was better than ever. We thank you all for your support and we hope you enjoyed your Festival. It is that time again and we invite you to join the Festival AGM which will take place on Thursday the 16th September 2010 8.00pm at the Hatherleigh Community Centre. We hope to see anyone from any age who thinks they may be able to offer some support or time. Don’t forget we have the Festival Pig Roast Machine available to hire. Call 01837 811 718.

BBC Radio Devon Air Ambulance Appeal Bike Ride 22nd September
On Wednesday 22 September Margaret Weeks will be using pedal power to raise money for the BBC Radio Devon Air Ambulance Appeal.
She is cycling from Torrington to Barnstaple and back to Torrington on the Tarka Trail, a distance of 28 miles, in aid of the appeal
The Appeal hopes to raise the rest of the money needed for the charity to be able to place an order for a brand new purpose-built air ambulance in a year's time; some £600,000. It will replace the current leased helicopter.
The charity decided buying - rather than leasing - a helicopter was a more efficient way of spending the hard-earned funds raised each year. They bought a Eurocopter EC135 in 2008, replacing the then leased Exeter-based Air Ambulance. Each year the trust must raise £4 million in order keep the two air ambulances airborne. The helicopter will operate from the new airbase, just opened at Eaglescott Airfield near Umberleigh.
So contact Margaret to sign her sponsor form and support her and this fantastic appeal. Telephone 01837 851379
