The Eggesford Hunt

Hurrah! They've started rebuilding the George.

Town Criers' Competition

First, let's set the scene: t'was a dark and stormy night ... and next morning was not much better either! But nothing could stop 22 Town Criers, plus our own Ros Chard, from crying/shouting/doing their thing in The Square. Except that they shouted from the slightly warmer/drier archway of the Tally Ho! and the rest of us stood over the road by The Square! See below.

The Criers

The judges considered best diction, best costume, etc. The Criers cried in the order shown below. There were five or six winners, all pictured at the end. The host Crier (that's our Ros) was not allowed to take part but she's included below. There are a couple of other nice 'extras' too. Enjoy!

... and the winners were!
