The Evening Procession

The floats meet in the market where they are judged and then proceed up High Street, along Victoria Road and back down Park Lane to the assembly point at the top of Market Street. There they are joined by the torches and bands for the official circuit of the town via Market Street, Bridge Street, South Street and back via High Street.

The first set of pictures below are randomly taken in and around the meeting point. The second set are in the above street order - the first lot taken at the top of High Street and the second from the window of Crown Cottage in Bridge Street.

(These are the best of the best, although with a bias towards the crepe paper entries. If your float is not here then it's possible it could not be photographed easily from the positions we chose. Or maybe it just didn't photograph well? We have shots of most floats at some point on the route - let us know if you feel yours should be included.)
