Carnival 2008

Saturday Morning 8th November

Saturday starts with the Eggesford Hunt meeting outside the George. Nowadays of course they can't actually hunt, but the horses and riders go off to ride cross country after a traditional drink. Town Crier Ros led a minute's silence for the fallen of two world wars. A short while later there was anything but silence in the Square when the Town Criers, led by Ros, shouted for a set of prizes. The Pottery created some nice bells to be given to each Crier.
