Carnival 2006

Queens Dance

The annual Queens Dance is when the Carnival Queen is chosen, along with the Prince and Princess. This year was probably the last time the event took place in the old Town Hall as the new Community Centre was being completed as we took these pictures.

This year it was Hannah Winser's chance to shine. She (and family) managed to sell all 800 books of draw tickets and so qualified to be the 2006 Queen. Chelsea Connor and Jack Moyse were chosen as her Royal partners. Below is a picture of the three of them, along with 2006 Carnival President Richard Tidball and wife Sue, shortly after the official anouncements. Other pictures from the evening are also shown.

All three Royals will be crowned on Carnival Day after the 2pm procession.
