Hatherleigh Walruses 2010 - Strictly NOT Come Dancing

The annual dip in the River Lew by that intrepid band of Walruses took place at 2.45 on New Year's Day by the bridge as usual. We're pleased to report that the Walruses really took 2010 by storm in a great parody of Strictly. MC Benny was ably supported by Twice Daily in linking together a spoof of the TV programme, judges included, of whom Ozzie was superbly protrayed by .... well we'd have to shoot you if we revealed that. Four troupes strutted their stuff, ranging from Bavarian dance through to Line Dancing, complete with cow. Some of the groups had obviously rehearsed well, an unusual occurrence but which made for much better entertainment for the big crowd watching from the bridge - so much so that a winner (judged by the amount of applause) was hard to decide. Not that it mattered much - all the participants then spent a happy 5 minutes in the river, all in aid of raising funds for good causes. Well done Walruses - it was your slickest show for some years.
